At the invitation of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), the DeFacto Dialogue Platform is participating in the 11th China and Globalization Forum, held Beijing from May 22 to 24, 2025, under the theme “A New Middle East Order?”
CCG is one of China’s leading think tanks specializing in globalization and international relations. It organizes numerous high-level international forums each year to address global challenges with the participation of decision-makers and experts from around the world.
DeFacto is taking part in a panel discussion titled “State Fragility”, held today as part of the forum’s second day of activities. The platform is represented by Zosan Alloush, its Chief Advisor and an independent governance expert.
Alloush will shed light on the fragile realities of many Middle Eastern states, emphasizing the “absence of institutional effectiveness and the chronic disconnect between citizens and the state.”
DeFacto believes in the urgent need to promote inclusive governance models and strengthen local accountability as realistic alternatives to support state recovery and resilience.
DeFacto also emphasizes the importance of dialogue-based frameworks in bridging the gap between institutions and civil society, highlighting that state-building cannot rely solely on external interventions or security-based solutions, but must be grounded in transparency, justice, and redefined citizen-state relations.
Zosan Alloush will join the panel along with a group of distinguished international figures, including former ministers, diplomats, and leading academics, to discuss the challenges of reconstruction, political stabilization, and regional and international interventions in fragile states.
This participation underscores DeFacto’s pioneering role in providing independent and alternative insights on governance and state-building issues through engagement in high-level global forums.
