{"id":1864,"date":"2025-08-22T12:41:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T12:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/defacto-sy.com\/?p=1864"},"modified":"2025-08-22T12:42:29","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T12:42:29","slug":"second-session-of-together-for-civil-peace-and-social-cohesion-held-in-rural-hama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/defacto-sy.com\/?p=1864","title":{"rendered":"Second Session of \u201cTogether for Civil Peace and Social Cohesion\u201d Held in Rural Hama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The Rights Defense Initiative (RDI) in partnership with the DeFacto Dialogue Platform organized on Monday the second session of the project \u201cTogether for Civil Peace and Social Cohesion\u201d in the city of Salamiyah in Hama Governorate, central Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The event came just two days after the project\u2019s first session was launched in Damascus, and witnessed strong participation from human rights and political activists, journalists, academics, and representatives of civil society organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">The interactive session focused on three core themes:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The foundations of civil peace in Syria.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The role of transitional justice in supporting stability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The impact of media and social networks in strengthening social cohesion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">Participants engaged in an open dialogue on ways to counter hate speech, promote a culture of dialogue across Syrian communities, and reaffirm the urgent need to consolidate values of coexistence. Discussions also highlighted the importance of building inclusive social justice that supports reconciliation and long-term national healing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">This session is part of a broader series of dialogues under the \u201cTogether for Civil Peace and Social Cohesion\u201d project, which aims to create a safe and inclusive platform for constructive exchange of ideas and the development of actionable initiatives. The project seeks to foster community stability and lay the groundwork for sustainable peace and recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; color: #000000;\">The initiative reaffirmed its commitment to broadening the scope of dialogue and disseminating outcomes widely, stressing that joint efforts are key
